Manipur, 21st November: The Imphal -Jiribam road is in an extremely bad state. The Irang Bridge that connects Imphal-Jiribam road on National Highway 37, too collapsed a few weeks back.
Despite the Imphal– Jiribam road being the lifeline of Manipur, the poor condition of the road continues to prevail. According to the reports, the bridge suddenly collapsed when a truck was crossing the river.
Chief Minister N.Biren Singh took a dig at the former Congress regime of Ibobi Singh for ignoring the needs of the local People of Manipur
“Congress really neglected majority of Manipuris people, diverted all funds to less populated areas even denied single RCC bridge in the NH 37. Funny Ibobi regime,” CM tweet.

However, the present government of the state has started putting efforts in the reconstruction of the bridge and well maintenance of the road unlike the previous government, as claimed by one of the natives.
