Kolkata, Nov 09: In the early hours of November 9, the Shalimar-Secunderabad Express derailed near Howrah, West Bengal. The incident occurred around 5:30 a.m. and involved three coaches, including a parcel bogey and two passenger coaches.
South Eastern Railway authorities confirmed that the 22850 Secunderabad-Shalimar Weekly Express was passing through Nalpur station in the Kharagpur Division when the derailment happened. Fortunately, there have been no fatalities or serious injuries reported.

Emergency teams, including accident relief and medical assistance trains from Santragachi and Kharagpur, were quickly dispatched to manage the situation.
Restoration work is actively underway as railway officials strive to resume normal operations and investigate the cause of the derailment.
