Despite the efforts of the remaining passengers to swim to safety, the situation turned dire as the storm intensified.

Residents immediately sprang into action, initiating rescue efforts to locate the missing individuals. Tragically, the body of Shamim Hussain, a 4-year-old boy, was recovered, but due to the absence of medical facilities on the char, he could not be revived.

Currently, Kovad Hussain (65) and Ismail Hussain (8) remain missing, prompting the Hatshingimari SDRF to mobilize rescue operations early this morning.

The efforts are being coordinated with local authorities, including Sukhsar police and the Border Security Force (BSF), to cover a wider area and maximize the chances of locating the missing persons.

In response to the incident, the revenue circle officer of Mankas is expected to arrive shortly to oversee the rescue operations and provide necessary support.

Additionally, Sukhsar police have made arrangements for the post-mortem examination of the deceased child to facilitate the legal process and provide closure to the affected family.
