Agartala, March 22: In anticipation of the upcoming Lok Sabha election, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has scheduled a significant gathering with key leaders from the Indigenous Front Of Tripura (IPFT) and Tipra Motha on March 25 in Agartala.

A senior BJP leader, speaking on condition of anonymity, revealed that a crucial election management meeting was held at the party office yesterday.

Present at the meeting were the BJP’s candidate for the East (ST) Parliamentary seat, Kriti Singh Debbarma, Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha, BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharya, and other state leaders.

“This marks the first meeting of the BJP with its candidate Kriti Singh Debbarma since their nomination. The discussions revolved around the upcoming election, emphasizing the importance of campaign strategy for success. Additionally, it served as an opportunity to introduce the newly selected candidate to the electorate, recognizing the necessity of building familiarity among constituents,” stated the BJP source.

Further elaborating, the source mentioned plans for a forthcoming meeting with leaders from BJP, IPFT, and Tipra Motha to discuss poll preparedness and outline the election strategy.

“Given the BJP’s need for cooperation with its alliance partners, especially in the East Tripura Lok Sabha seat, we aim to convene a meeting with all stakeholders. Our party is also performing well in tribal areas, similar to IPFT and Tipra Motha. Recognizing the importance of respecting our alliance partners, we have decided to hold a joint meeting to discuss election-related matters,” explained the source.

The gathering, expected to be attended by 100 leaders and workers from the participating parties, is set to take place on March 25 at Hotel Sonar Tori.

“We intend to discuss upcoming plans, roadmaps, and joint programs for the forthcoming election during the meeting,” added the source.
