Tripura, Feb 6: On Friday, a 55-year-old man died after drinking acid and mistaking it for alcohol at Lankapura ADC village in Khowai district Tripura, according to police.
Kartik Mohan Debbarma, the deceased, under the influence of alcohol drank a bottle of acid and died on the spot, according to police.
Debbarma was a regular drunkard, and he was inebriated at a local country liquor store on the night of the attack, according to reports. He returned home and slept.
Soon after, he collapsed unconscious. His family members admitted him to a local hospital, but doctors declared him dead, according to the reports.
