Agartala, Jan 18: A man allegedly killed his three-and-a-half-year-old son and buried the body in close proximity to his home in Baldakhal area of Agartala in Tripura.

The accused has been recognized as Shyamal Das. The Tripura Police has arrested the accused and he will appear in court Thursday.

The victim’s mortal remains were also excavated and sent for a forensic examination.

SDPO New Capital Complex Paramita Pandey stated on the matter, “According to information provided to us, a three-and-a-half-year-old boy was murdered and buried by his father. After three long hours of a thorough search operation, when we arrived at the scene, the body was exhumed from a marshy region close to the victim’s home.”

The police informed the media the mom of the victim tried to intervene but was assaulted by her husband.

“All of the testimony has been recorded, and the main suspect in the case has also been taken into custody. The only way to determine the true cause of death is through a postmortem,” Pandey stated.

According to the report, the victim’s skull bore severe damage marks, which might have been the cause of death.

According to the preliminary evidence, he was first killed and then buried, police said. Neighbours said that the couple used to fight all the time and they used to hear arguments every day.
