post-poll violence

Agartala, March 05: Scores of people were injured in Tripura after several incidents of post-poll violence were reported this week. Upset with BJP’s sweeping victory in the recently held assembly elections, Tipra Motha workers allegedly clashed with BJP and attacked them.

Reportedly, one BJP worker is critically injured and is being treated. While the situation has been brought to control in various sites, tension prevails in parts of Bishalgar and Kalyanpur.

Several Congress offices have also allegedly been vandalized by BJP workers but the larger concern is with Tipra Motha workers who are mostly tribals and have gone on a rampage.
