Northeast, 4th November: The blockade on the National Highway-306 prevented trucks from entering Mizoram from Assam. The National Highway-306 is a link between the two states.

No other vehicles or truck have entered from Assam on Tuesday, said the officer-in-charge of Vairengte police station, Lalchawimawia. This was because of the blockade in Mizoram due to the border dispute between the two states.

The office in-charge also said that there was no new incident that occurred on the Mizoram Mizoram-Assam border after a resident of Assam died in a hospital in Vairengte.

The 45 old-year men, Intazul Ali Laskar, was arrested with 420 mg of heroin in Vairengte by personnel of the state Excise and Narcotics department. The body of the man was handed over to his relatives on Tuesday after he died in a hospital in Vsirengte on Monday. Mizoram police claimed that Laskar was a drug dealer but his relatives alleged that he was kidnapped and murdered.

However, Lalhriatzuali Ratle, the director of Mizoram food, civil supplies, and consumer affairs, said that 8 Mizoram trucks carrying oil and LPG have started their journey from Manipur via Churachandpur on the National Highway-102B after lifting a consignment on Tuesday.

The truck should arrive in Aizawl by Wednesday evening. A welcome reception is also arranged on their arrival in the state on Wednesday said the director of Mizoram food, civil supplies and consumer affairs.
