Kolkata, Feb 02: The Ministry of Culture & Tourism of the Republic of Türkiye and Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA) recently wrapped up the Kolkata leg of their six-city India Roadshow 2024 in collaboration with the Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI).

This event, held at The Park Hotel on January 31st, marked a significant step in fostering partnerships and exploring mutual growth opportunities in the tourism sector.

Following the successful inauguration of the roadshow in New Delhi, the Kolkata event brought together a diverse audience from the Indian travel industry, including local tour operators, hoteliers, and travel enthusiasts.

The roadshow aims to showcase the enchanting landscapes, historic landmarks, and vibrant cities of Turkiye, emphasizing its rich cultural and touristic offerings.

Onur Gözet, Deputy General Director of Promotion at the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Türkiye, expressed satisfaction with Kolkata’s enthusiastic response, stating, “Kolkata has proven to be an enthusiastic audience, showcasing a keen interest in the rich cultural and touristic offerings of Turkiye.”

He emphasized the importance of strengthening ties between Turkiye and India in the realm of tourism, anticipating enduring partnerships for mutual benefit.

During the Kolkata leg, representatives from Türkiye Tourism Board engaged in meaningful discussions with their Indian counterparts, shedding light on iconic destinations such as İstanbul, Antalya, and Cappadocia to spark the interest of Indian tourists.

The event witnessed the participation of over 150 members of the tourism fraternity from Turkiye and India, underscoring the vibrant synergy between the two nations.

With the successful conclusion of the Kolkata event, the roadshow is set to continue its journey with upcoming sessions in Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, and the concluding event in Ahmedabad.

This strategic initiative aims to deepen the cultural and tourism ties between Turkiye and India, showcasing Turkiye as a destination that welcomes tourists from around the world.

Turkiye, located at the crossroads of cultures, offers a unique blend of history, nature, and gastronomy, reflecting the diversity of civilizations for centuries.
