Two Pregnant women stuck in snow; deliver babies after being helped by Army personal and local health workers

Kashmir, Jan 9: Two pregnant women stuck in heavy snowfall safely delivered babies, thanks to the Indian Army and local health workers which came to their aid in the nick of time and helped them in South Kashmir.

Most places in Kashmir witnessed heavy snowfall on Saturday morning as authorities issued an alert for avalanche-prone areas of it. The Met department had predicted that the intensity of Snowfall and rainfall in parts of Jammu and Kashmir is likely to increase.

At least 10 flights were cancelled and several delayed on Saturday as air traffic between Kashmir and the rest of the country was affected due to low visibility and inclement weather with the overnight snowfall continuing at most places in the valley.

The snowfall, which started late in the afternoon on Friday, continued through the night at most places.
