New Delhi, Nov 19: Union Minister Kiren Rijiju expressed satisfaction after interacting with the Indian community in Maldives, praising their noteworthy contributions to strengthening the ties between India and Maldives.

In a post on the social media platform X, Minister Rijiju highlighted the community’s role in enhancing bilateral relations and assured them of the Indian government’s continuous commitment to their welfare.

“Delighted to interact with vibrant and committed Indian Community in Maldives. Commended their significant contributions in nurturing India-Maldives ties. Assured them of the continued commitment of @mygovindia for their welfare and wellbeing,” posted Union Minister Kiren Rijiju on X.

During his visit, Rijiju met with the newly sworn-in President of Maldives, Mohamed Muizzu, emphasizing India’s dedication to strengthening bilateral cooperation and people-to-people connections between the two nations.

Rijiju conveyed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s greetings to President Muizzu and participated in the swearing-in ceremony, offering congratulations. He also attended the official banquet, expressing gratitude for the warm Maldivian hospitality.

The Ministry of External Affairs had previously announced that Prime Minister Modi received an invitation to attend the oath-taking ceremony of Maldives President-elect Mohamed Muizzu.
