Vehicle lifters gang lands in Golaghat Police net along Assam-Nagaland border

Assam, April 19: The Golaghat Police arrested a gang of three-vehicle lifters from Merapani along the Assam-Nagaland border.

The arrested vehicle lifters have been identified as Junti Ali, Munin Sensua, and Bikram Kachari.

The arrest of the vehicle lifters has given a blow to the vehicle-lifting racket, which has become active in the Golaghat district.

Amid Bihu festivities, after lifting a motorcycle from Golaghat two days back, the district reported another incident of bike lifting.

After the back-to-back lifting of bikes, the Golaghat Police became alert.

Finally, a team of Golaghat Police under the leadership of the additional superintendent of police, Paneswar Singh was able to arrest the gang of three vehicle-lifters from Merapani along the Assam-Nagaland border with the help of Merapani police.

The Golaghat Police team was also able to recover a total of three stolen motorcycles from their possession.

The recovered motorcycles include two Enfield bullets and a scooty.

While bike-lifter Junti Ali is a resident of Kacharihat in Golaghat, the two other vehicle-lifters, Munin Sensua and Bikram Kachari are residents of Senijan in the Jorhat district.
