Video, Jan 10: This is the moment a penguin powered across the ice before the slab broke away, and separated it from its colony. The footage was taken from above, has surfaced on social media.
A playful penguin scurries across the ice while the rest of its colony is on the other side, further away. In the video, the excited penguin becomes separated from the colony. This is because before it can rejoin its friends, the ice breaks away.
The penguin is left with no choice but to make a leap of faith to be reunited with the rest of the group. Although it can swim, it slides across the ice rapidly, on its front.
