Entertainment, Feb 21: Bollywood star Vidya Balan has taken legal action against an unidentified individual for operating a fake Instagram account in her name and deceiving people for financial gain.

According to reports, someone created a counterfeit Instagram profile using Vidya Balan’s identity and initiated communication with individuals associated with the Bollywood industry.

The impersonator allegedly offered employment opportunities in exchange for money. Upon learning of this fraudulent activity, Vidya Balan promptly reported the matter to the Mumbai Police.

Following her complaint, the Khar Police Station registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the unknown perpetrator under Section 66 (C) of the Information Technology Act.

An investigation into the matter has been launched to identify and apprehend the individual responsible.

Vidya Balan took to her genuine Instagram account to alert her followers about the fake profile, urging them to report and block it.

She cautioned her fans and followers against engaging with the imposter, who had been communicating with multiple people while posing as her.

On the professional front, Vidya Balan is gearing up for her upcoming film “Do Aur Do Pyaar,” the poster of which was recently unveiled. In this movie, she will be starring alongside actress Ileana D’Cruz.

The film is slated for a theatrical release on March 29, 2024, promising an exciting cinematic experience for audiences.
