Entertainment, Feb 21: Actor Vikrant Massey recently issued an apology for a tweet he shared in 2018 featuring a cartoon of Lord Ram and Goddess Sita.

Despite his success with the film ’12th Fail’, Massey found himself in hot water over the old tweet.

He clarified that he never intended to offend any community but acknowledged the distasteful nature of the post. Massey deleted the tweet and expressed regret over its content.

Massey’s apology came after Mumbai-based advocate Ashutosh Dubey shared a screenshot of their conversation, hinting at the actor’s forthcoming statement. The tweet in question contained an editorial cartoon depicting Sita commenting on Ram Bakhts, drawing criticism from various quarters.

Reflecting on the tweet, Massey emphasized that his intention was never to malign or disrespect the Hindu community.

He acknowledged the insensitive nature of the post and admitted that the message could have been conveyed without including the cartoon. Following his apology, Massey removed the tweet from his profile.
