Weather Forcast, April 09: Strong southwesterly winds from the Bay of Bengal will bring fairly widespread to widespread rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya; along with isolated/scattered rains over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura during the next five days.

The weather department said that Further, isolated heavy rainfall is very likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim on April 9-10; over Assam and Meghalaya from April 9-13, and over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura on April 13. Isolated very heavy rainfall is also very likely to drench west Assam and Meghalaya between April 10 and 13.

As per the weather forecast, heatwave to severe heatwave conditions are likely in parts of Rajasthan, Punjab, south Haryana, and Delhi during the next five days; in West Uttar Pradesh during the next three days, and over Saurashtra-Kutch on April 9.

Further, just heatwave conditions are expected in parts of Himachal Pradesh during the next three days; in Jharkhand, Bihar, and Madhya Pradesh during the next four days, in Uttar Pradesh for the next five, over the northern parts of the Gujarat Region on April 9 and in Vidarbha from April 10-12.

As for the mercury levels, the maximum temperatures will be higher than normal over Northwest India, but lower than average over Northeastern, Eastern India, and east-coastal Southern India in this period. On the other hand, the minimum temperatures will be higher or slightly higher than normal across the country.
