Itanagar, Sep 14: The Itanagar Capital Police, with the assistance of ChildLine Service, on Tuesday, arrested a lady for her alleged involvement in child trafficking and rescued the 4-month-old child.

The accused woman has been identified as drug peddler Anu Wangsa. She was also arrested in 2021 on the charge of drug possession.

“Information become acquired from a girl drug addict concerning a case of toddler trafficking on September 11. After that Childline Itanagar become knowledgeable and they gave criticism to the Itanagar police station. As in step with the criticism, the organic mom had borrowed a few cash from one Badal Natung, 47 years, at the beginning from Seijosa,” Police stated.

Police further said that “However, while she did not go back the cash, the accused after understanding she become pregnant, prompted her to present the child to him after the birth. The accused together with one Anu Wangsa used to appeal her with pills and further cash. And after the shipping of the child, they took the child from her possession. She did now no longer refuse the accused because of fear.”

An FIR was registered below segment 370(3), 34 of the Indian Penal Code, and segment 80/81of the Juvenile Justice Act in PS Itanagar.

“A unique group was shaped to arrest the accused and rescue the kid. The group of police together with ChildLine quickly rescued the trafficked toddler from the residence of Badal Natung. One accused, Anu Wangsa become arrested from Chimpu Tinali, Itanagar,” the police officials said.

The child was produced before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and upon its direction, passed over the child to the OJU welfare affiliation for secure custody.

The entire operation becomes supervised via means of Additional SP Capital, Thutan Jamba, and APPS ably supported via the police group consisting of Insp Rongrang, Insp Takhe Tasso, and Insp M Mibang with the nearby place Magistrate.
