Itanagar, June 27: At least 15 students at a boarding school in Arunachal Pradesh’s Changlang sustained serious injuries after allegedly being ragged by their seniors.

Sources report that the Class 8 students were ragged by Class 11 students at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Bordumsa on Tuesday during lunch after school.

School Principal Rajiv Ranjan stated that five students have been suspended following a disciplinary committee meeting convened after the incident.

Disturbing visuals of the incident have surfaced, showing severe physical abuse inflicted on the students, resulting in serious bruises on their backs and legs.

Ranjan added that a Parent Teacher Council meeting has been scheduled to discuss further actions.

Guardians are demanding strict measures against the guilty students and the school administration.

The boarding school accommodates 530 students and 18 teachers.
