Itanagar, June 09: On Sunday morning, a mild earthquake measuring 3.8 on the Richter scale shook the East Kameng district in Arunachal Pradesh.

The tremor struck at 10:05 am as reported by the National Center for Seismology (NCS).

The epicenter was pinpointed at a latitude of 27.58 N and a longitude of 93.20 E, with a depth of 10 kilometers beneath the surface.

Given its proximity to the Himalayas, this region, nestled in India’s northeastern part, often experiences seismic activity.

Residents of the East Kameng district felt slight tremors, though there have been no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
