Parliament gift

New Delhi, Sept 19: Members of Parliament (MPs) are set to receive a heartfelt gift that symbolizes the nation’s democratic legacy and commitment to governance. On the opening day of the new Parliament building, MPs will be presented with a thoughtful gift bag containing a copy of the Constitution of India, books related to Parliament, a commemorative coin, and a special stamp.

The inauguration of the impressive new Parliament complex took place on May 28 and was graced by the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Now, on Day 2 of the special Parliament session, proceedings will unfold within the stunning confines of this architectural marvel.

The Rajya Sabha will convene at 2:15 pm in the chamber of the new Parliament building. Simultaneously, the Lok Sabha will commence its session at 1:15 pm within the lower chamber of this newly constructed complex.

The significance of this occasion extends beyond the grandeur of the new building. It is a celebration of India’s vibrant democracy, which has thrived for 75 years since the inception of the Samvidhan Sabha (Constituent Assembly). The discussions held on Monday in both Houses centered on the “Parliamentary Journey of 75 years starting from Samvidhan Sabha — Achievements, Experiences, Memories, and Learnings.”
