New Delhi, Dec 16: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has appointed MP Raghav Chadha as the leader of the party in the Rajya Sabha, replacing Sanjay Singh, who is currently facing health issues and is detained in the Delhi liquor policy case.

In a letter addressed to the Rajya Sabha Chairman, the AAP leadership officially communicated the appointment of Raghav Chadha as the party’s leader in the Upper House in the absence of Sanjay Singh.

Sanjay Singh, who served as the party’s leader in Rajya Sabha, is currently behind bars in connection with the Delhi liquor policy case. The AAP cited his health issues as the reason for the leadership change.

Sources from the Rajya Sabha secretariat confirmed the receipt of the letter from the AAP, indicating the appointment of Raghav Chadha as the new floor leader. The letter is currently with the Rajya Sabha Secretary General for implementation.

Raghav Chadha, one of the youngest members of the Rajya Sabha, will now lead the AAP’s representation in the Upper House, which currently consists of 10 MPs. The AAP holds the fourth-largest strength in the Rajya Sabha, following the BJP, the Congress, and the TMC.

This leadership change comes as the AAP aims to continue its active role and representation in the Rajya Sabha, contributing to legislative discussions and proceedings on various national issues.
