Itanagar, Jan 21: Arunachal Pradesh, one of the Northeastern states has come into being as a Union Territory (UT) on January 20, 1972, Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt is the brand ambassador of the ’50 years of Arunachal Pradesh’ campaign. The actor took to Twitter to kickstart the month-long festivities.

In the video, Dutt can be seen showing his friend Rahul Mittra around Arunachal Pradesh over a video call, inviting him to come to visit, calling the state a better tourist destination than any other place abroad.

Sanjay Dutt has been making headlines for his upcoming film choices. Sanjay is currently in Dubai and hence, couldn’t be present in person to start off with the celebrations. But, he shared a video starring himself that will surely help boost the state’s tourism.

Sanjay wrote, “Proud to share my campaign for Arunachal Pradesh. My good wishes to the people of Arunachal for 50 year celebrations and a big thanks to @PemaKhanduBJP @rahulmittra13 @pasang_sona @ZingnuChau @MyGovArunachal @ChownaMeinBJP (sic).”

For the unaware, 50 years of Arunachal Pradesh will be celebrated from January 20 to February 20. Sanjay Dutt shared his first campaign for the state on social media.

With Arunachal Pradesh completing 50 years as a UT, celebrations have started off in full swing at the Padi Yubbe stadium in Ziro, with a selective audience.

Arunachal CM Pema Khandu retweeted Dutt’s post saying, “Presenting here a video on Arunachal campaign.”

“My good wishes to the people of Arunachal for 50-year celebrations and thanks to @duttsanjay Ji @rahulmittra13 Ji. It was on this day in 1972 that our State attained the UT status and was renamed as Arunachal Pradesh,” the CM added in his tweet.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of Arunachal Pradesh, which is being commemorated with a month-long festival starting today, January 20, in Ziro of Arunachal’s Lower Subansiri district where the state got its name and Union Territory status in 1972.

This Festivities showcasing the state’s arts, culture and native sports will conclude on February 20, 2022, on the occasion of Arunachal Statehood day to be held at the state’s capital in Itanagar.
