Delhi, Jan 21: AIIMS Delhi has declared a half-day closure on January 22 to mark the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

The hospital will be closed until 2:30 pm, and critical services will remain operational. Scheduled surgeries that can be postponed will be rescheduled, while emergency cases will be attended to.

The decision aligns with the central government’s directive for a half-day closure of all central government offices and institutions on January 22.

AIIMS Delhi

Appointments at AIIMS are being rescheduled, and the hospital will attempt to accommodate arriving patients.

Evening OPDs will continue to function. Patients affected by rescheduled OPD appointments will be honored within a week.

Following the government’s order, Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in Connaught Place, Delhi, will also have a half-day closure for routine work until 2:30 pm on January 22. Emergency services will operate as usual.

Lady Hardinge Hospital and Safdarjung Hospital, both located in Connaught Place, will also observe a half-day closure on January 22.

Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena approved a half-day closure for all government offices, Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), autonomous bodies, undertakings, and boards in the national capital on the day of the Ram Mandir’s opening.
