Sikkim statewide

1. Sikkim has declared a statewide closure following a directive from the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions, Government of India.
2. The shutdown includes all State Government Offices, PSUs, and Educational Institutions under the State Government.
3. The decision is in accordance with the guidelines outlined in the central government’s Office Memorandum No: 12/7/2023-JCA, dated January 18, 2024.


Gangtok, Jan 21: Following a directive from the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions, Government of India, the state of Sikkim has officially declared a statewide closure.

The closure encompasses all State Government Offices, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), and Educational Institutions under the State Government.

This measure is in alignment with the guidelines provided in the Office Memorandum No: 12/7/2023-JCA, dated January 18, 2024, issued by the central government.

As per the official notification, which is referenced as No: 04/Home/2024 and dated January 20, 2024, the statewide closure will remain in effect until 1430hrs on January 22, 2024.
