Kolkata, Nov 29: Union Home Minister Amit Shah, ahead of a major public meeting in Kolkata, confidently declared that the BJP has become the preferred choice of the people in Bengal, ensuring the inevitable decline of the Trinamool Congress in the upcoming elections.

Shah, in a post on X (formerly Twitter), credited PM Narendra Modi’s leadership for the BJP’s prominence in Bengal. The Union Home Minister expressed certainty about the BJP’s victory and the downfall of Mamata Didi-led TMC in the impending polls.

Aiming to set the stage for the general elections next year, Shah is scheduled to address a mega rally in Kolkata, focusing on exposing the corruption within the TMC government and shedding light on the deprivation of rights faced by the people of Bengal.

The BJP has organized the rally to provide a platform for those affected by corruption in accessing central schemes; drop boxes will be available for individuals to share details and register their protests.

Ahead of Shah’s rally, BJP supporters and workers have been arriving in large numbers in Kolkata. There is a visible presence around Howrah and Sealdah railway stations, indicating enthusiasm among party members. The BJP had to seek permission from the Calcutta High Court after the police initially denied approval for the public meeting.

In response to Shah’s visit, the TMC has launched a campaign with posters across Kolkata mocking the event.

Additionally, the party’s youth and student cells plan to send 51,000 letters to Shah’s residence in New Delhi, demanding jobs and protesting the alleged withholding of state funds by the Centre. The political atmosphere in Bengal is intensifying as key players gear up for the approaching elections.
