Raichur, Feb 07: During bridge construction work on the Krishna River near Devasugur village in Karnataka’s Raichur district, an ancient Vishnu idol and a shivling were unearthed.
The centuries-old idols of these Hindu deities were discovered by the crew working on the bridge, who promptly informed the local administration upon retrieval.
Eyewitnesses noted that among the discovered idols was the Dashavatar of Lord Krishna and a shivling. Some observers also remarked on the striking similarities between these idols and the recently consecrated idol of Ram Lalla in the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

Dr. Padmaja Desai, a lecturer specializing in Ancient History and Archaeology, described the unique features of the idol.
Crafted on a pedestal with a radiant aura surrounding it, the sculpture showcases representations of the ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu, including Matsya, Kurma, Varaha, Narasimha, Vamana, Rama, Krishna, Buddha, and Kalki.
According to Dr. Desai, the standing posture of the idol adheres intricately to the guidelines outlined in the Agamas, resulting in a beautifully crafted representation.
