Entertainment, Dec 03: ‘Animal,’ the Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial starring Ranbir Kapoor, has made a remarkable entry into the Rs 100 crore club in India within just two days of its theatrical release on December 1.

The film, also featuring Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Triptii Dimri, surpassed the records of ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Gadar 2‘ to achieve this milestone.

The storyline of ‘Animal’ explores the intricate dynamics between Balbir Singh, a tycoon, and his son, Rannvijay Singh. When tragedy befalls Balbir, Rannvijay is determined to seek retribution against his adversary, Abrar Haque, igniting a violent gang feud to protect his family.

The film faced a strong box office clash with Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Sam Bahadur’ on its first day but still recorded impressive business.

Early estimates indicate that ‘Animal’ earned Rs 63.80 crore in India on the second day, bringing the total tally to Rs 129.80 crore. Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh predicted ‘Animal’ to be Ranbir’s biggest opener, highlighting its excellent performance across urban areas, national chains, and tier 1, tier 2, and tier 3 centers. With the weekend ahead, the film is expected to approach the Rs 150 crore mark in India.

Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, ‘Animal’ had a worldwide theatrical release on December 1, 2023. Ranbir Kapoor’s character, Rannvijay, is portrayed as a ruthless and ambitious man willing to go to any lengths to achieve his goals, unravelling the tumultuous relationship between a father and a son. The film also stars Anil Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna in significant roles.
