Khandu also highlighted the IAF’s impressive fleet, including indigenous aircraft like the Tejas and the Light Combat Helicopter, which showcase India’s strength, resilience, and self-reliance.
Ahead of the IAF Day celebrations, a spectacular air show was held at Chennai’s Marina Beach on October 6. The event was attended by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, Deputy CM Udhayanidhi Stalin, Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, and a large crowd.

Fighter jets like the Sukhoi Su-30MKI and Sarang helicopters wowed the audience with breathtaking maneuvers. For the first time in 21 years, the Garud Commandos demonstrated operational readiness in Chennai.
The event’s theme, “Bharatiya Vayusena: Saksham, Sashakt aur Aatmnirbhar,” emphasized the IAF’s dedication to self-reliance and modernization.
Despite the hot weather, spectators were captivated by the impressive display of 72 aircraft in the skies.
