Itanagar, May 21: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on May 21 praised the inauguration of a state-of-the-art cricket training facility in the North East, highlighting its potential to transform the region’s cricketing landscape.

This facility’s foundation stone was laid by BCCI Secretary Jay Shah, a move that signifies a significant step towards improving the sports infrastructure in the area.

The Chief Minister expressed his appreciation for Jay Shah’s efforts, emphasizing that the new facility will enhance the cricketing skills of players from Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Sikkim.

The advanced infrastructure aims to provide comprehensive training opportunities, fostering the development of local talent.

Taking to the microblogging site X, CM Khandu said, “Grateful to Honorary Secy Shri Jay Shah for laying the foundation stone for BCCI’s state-of-the-art training facility in the North East. The upcoming infrastructure will provide training to budding cricketers and also make the game loved by the nation popular in the North East. I eagerly look forward to the rise of cricketing stars from this centre.”

The BCCI’s initiative includes the construction of world-class indoor nets, indoor swimming pools, and fitness centers.
