Itanagar, Feb 02: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu inaugurated three pivotal projects with a combined worth of approximately Rs 70 crore in the state’s capital city, Itanagar.

The three projects include a double-lane steel arch bridge at Borum, a Bypass Road stretching from the Pappu-Nallah bridge point to Sood, and a Composite bridge over the Pachin River, connecting to the railway station.

The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of MLA Techi Kaso, Advisor to PWD Min Phurpa Tsering, and Commissioner PWD Kaling Tayeng, IAS.

These projects play a vital role in mitigating traffic congestion within the Itanagar capital complex. In total, seven bridges, including the two inaugurated recently, are under construction in the Capital Complex Area, reinforcing the local infrastructure.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu emphasized the government’s commitment to further enhancing connectivity with the construction of a 30 km double-lane highway connecting Naharlagun Railway Station and Donyi Polo Airport.

This strategic project aims to facilitate smooth commuter flow between the railway station and the airport. Additionally, the completion of CC pavements across the capital region is in its final stages.

Khandu affirmed his government’s dedication to creating a more efficient and accessible Itanagar for all residents. He outlined plans for a ropeway in Itanagar, designed to streamline traffic flow in the Capital Complex Region.

The inauguration of these projects reflects the government’s proactive approach to infrastructure development, addressing immediate challenges and fostering long-term connectivity solutions for the benefit of the local community.
