Itanagar, April 12: The Lok Sabha Elections 2024, scheduled to commence on April 19, mark a significant event in India’s democratic process.

With 28 states and eight union territories participating, the elections symbolize the nation’s celebration of democracy.

Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar announced the polling dates, spanning from April 19 to June 1, with results to be declared on June 4.

Lok Sabha Elections in Arunachal Pradesh

Arunachal Pradesh, situated in the northeastern part of India, will hold its elections in the first phase on April 19. This election will elect two members to the 18th Lok Sabha. Simultaneously, the state will conduct its Legislative Assembly elections alongside the general election.

  • Date: The polling for the Lok Sabha election in Arunachal Pradesh is slated to commence on April 19.
  • Constituencies: Arunachal Pradesh consists of two constituencies: Arunachal West and Arunachal East.

Analysis of Previous Elections

In the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, BJP candidate Kiren Rijiju secured a landslide victory, receiving 63.2% of the votes in Arunachal Pradesh.

He garnered 225,796 votes, while the Congress candidate, Nabam Tuki, received only 14.22% of the votes.

In the 2014 general elections, BJP won both seats in Arunachal Pradesh. Kiren Rijiju emerged victorious in the Arunachal West Lok Sabha constituency, defeating Nabam Tuki of the Indian National Congress (INC).

Similarly, Tapir Gao from the BJP clinched victory in the Arunachal East Lok Sabha constituency, triumphing over Lowangcha Wanglat of the INC by a significant margin of 69,948 votes.
