Union Minister Kiren Rijiju expressed his joy and excitement at witnessing such a significant marathon hosted in Tawang. He encouraged people to participate in similar marathon events, emphasizing the positive impact of such gatherings.

The Tawang Marathon, a celebration of sportsmanship and unity, comes at a time when regional tensions have flared in the disputed territory of Arunachal Pradesh. In August of this year, China released a ‘standard map’ that unilaterally claimed Arunachal Pradesh and Aksai Chin as part of its territory, further exacerbating ongoing territorial disputes.

However, the villagers residing in Sengnup, Kharseneng, and Grengkhar villages within the Tawang sector voiced their contentment with the peaceful environment provided by the Indian Army and the current government. Their sense of security and stability is a testament to their resilience and unwavering commitment to safeguarding India’s sovereignty in the region.

As the inaugural Tawang Marathon takes center stage, it exemplifies India’s commitment to fostering unity, promoting sportsmanship, and showcasing the determination of its citizens. Despite external complexities and territorial disputes, events like the Tawang Marathon serve as a reminder of the nation’s unwavering resolve to strengthen bonds within its diverse regions and communities.
