Itanagar, Sep 13: Union Minister of State for Rural Development, Kamlesh Paswan, announced a significant three-fold increase in the budget for Northeastern states, aiming to accelerate their development.
This announcement was made during the Solung festival celebrations in Ruksin, East Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh.
Paswan emphasized the central government’s commitment to advancing development projects in Arunachal Pradesh and the broader Northeast region, in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision.
He highlighted ongoing improvements in various sectors including power, education, healthcare, agriculture, tourism, and infrastructure.
The Union Minister underscored the importance of reaching out to the most underserved communities and ensuring that government schemes effectively benefit the needy. He expressed personal appreciation for Arunachal Pradesh’s unique cultural heritage, having experienced the Adi community’s agricultural festival firsthand.

Paswan encouraged the promotion of cultural tourism and urged the younger generation to preserve and continue the region’s rich traditions.
During the festival, Arunachal East Lok Sabha MP Tapir Gao called on the community to safeguard their traditional customs and attire. He also urged collective action against drug abuse to protect future generations.
The event was attended by several dignitaries including Pasighat West MLA Ninong Ering, Pasighat East MLA Tapi Darang, Nari-Koyu MLA Tojir Kadu, East Siang ZPC Olen Rome, DC Tayi Taggu, SP Dr. Sachin Kr Singhal, and PMC Chief Councilor Okiam Moyong Borang.
