Itanagar, April 23: Duyir Ete, hailing from the serene Darka Village in Aalo West Siang district, Arunachal Pradesh, has now etched her name in the annals of glamour and fame as Miss VogueStar India 2024.

Her journey, which commenced with aspirations in law, has now reached its zenith amidst the glitz and glamour of the fashion world.

After graduating with a law degree from Gauhati University, Ete’s passion for fashion and her unwavering advocacy for women’s empowerment propelled her from the courtroom to the runway.

The path to the crown was paved with meticulous planning and rigorous preparation, involving extensive online training and mentoring sessions that commenced as early as September.

Speaking on the media, Duyir Ete recounted the challenging yet exhilarating journey to clinching the Miss VogueStar India 2024 crown. “Preparing for the pageant wasn’t just about mastering my catwalk or perfecting my poses; it was about delving deep into my inner self, understanding my strengths, and embracing my uniqueness,” she revealed.

The grand finale of Miss VogueStar India 2024, held from April 11 to 16 in Jaipur, witnessed Ete’s crowning moment on April 13. Emerging victorious amidst three rounds – City, State, and National – Ete outshone over 70 contestants from across the country.

“With each round, I pushed myself beyond limits to showcase not only my external beauty but also the essence of my being,” reminisced Duyir, brimming with pride.

In the final moments of the competition, a poignant question sought insight into her inspiration. “When asked about my inspiration, there was no hesitation. My mother’s journey through child marriage, marked by unimaginable hardships, yet characterized by resilience and unwavering spirit, has always been my guiding light,” shared Duyir, her eyes reflecting the depth of her emotions.

This wasn’t Duyir Ete’s maiden voyage into the realm of beauty pageants. In 2011, she graced the stage of Miss Beauty of Arunachal Pradesh, clinching both the title and the Best Catwalk accolade. From there, her journey traversed through the corridors of academia to the dazzling lights of the runway.

Reflecting on her metamorphosis from a lawyer to a ramp slayer, Ete fondly recalled her humble beginnings as a high school student.

Despite the allure of the pageant world, she prioritized education, earning both her BA degree and a law degree. However, the fervor within her for fashion and beauty propelled her towards a transformative journey.

As the winner, Ete’s triumph extended beyond the crown to exclusive opportunities. Collaborations with esteemed brands like BMW Sanghi Classic and luxurious hampers from ISAAC LUXE adorned her victory, adding an extra layer of prestige to her journey.

“The prizes are merely the cherries on top,” she remarked with a smile. “The real reward lies in the journey itself – the lessons learned, the friendships forged, and the memories cherished.”

In the tapestry of her adventure, Ete expressed heartfelt gratitude to her mentors, particularly celebrity fashion director and stylist, Sunny Kumble, and Kavita.

Their guidance not only sharpened her skills but also fueled her aspirations to soar higher in the realms of fashion and beauty.

From a small-town girl with lofty dreams to a beacon of hope for aspiring youth, Duyir Ete’s journey resonates with inspiration. “To all the young girls out there, especially in my state Arunachal Pradesh and the northeast, I say this – dream boldly, work tirelessly, and never let anyone dim your light.”
