Weather update, April 23: The Department of Meteorology in Agartala has issued a warning for the next five days, cautioning residents about hot and humid weather conditions expected to prevail in Tripura.

Dr. Partha Roy, a scientist from the department, highlighted concerns regarding the impending heatwave, advising residents to prepare for unusually high temperatures.

Temperatures in various districts of the state are projected to rise above 35 degrees Celsius, significantly surpassing seasonal averages.

In Agartala city, recent observations recorded a temperature of 37.5 degrees Celsius, indicating a deviation of four degrees from the usual norm.

“Yesterday’s temperatures reached 37 degrees Celsius, reflecting a 3.7-degree increase from typical levels. Despite the intense heat, there is some relief anticipated in certain districts like Dhalai, North, and Unakoti, where rainfall is forecasted over the next three days,” stated Dr. Roy.

Dr. Roy emphasized the importance of completing outdoor activities before ten in the morning to mitigate exposure to the scorching heat, which could exacerbate health concerns.
