Assam, April 8: Assam Skill Development Mission (ASDM) has organized an orientation programme for experts, juries from 14 different sectors, and academic partners for IndiaSkills Assam 2021. The event was held at ASDM state headquarters in Garchuk of Guwahati.

A few days back, Assam Skill Development Mission (ASDM) introduce multi-skill training programs along with new skills for a self-sustainable and better livelihood for the students.

Assam Skill Development Mission was set up under the aegis of the Skill Employment and Entrepreneurship Department. The vision of the mission is capacity building of the unemployed youth and to deliver quality skill training leading to meaningful employment.

Assam Skill Development Mission was set up under the aegis of the Skill Employment and Entrepreneurship Department. The vision of the mission is capacity building of the unemployed youth and to deliver quality skill training leading to meaningful employment.
ASDM signed an MoU with ITEES, Singapore as the Global Knowledge Partner for establishing North East Skill Centre (NESC) at Guwahati. The objective of establishing an NESC is to offer high-quality skills training for the masses especially the rural youth.
In the first phase, NESC will provide training under the following sectors: Retail, Beauty & Wellness, and Hospitality- Housekeeping and Hospitality – F&B Services.
ASDM has trained at least 1,18,585 candidates. For the financial year 2020-21, the total target of 26,600 has been allotted to 396 training Centres, covering 33 districts in 24 Sectors and 83 unique job roles.
The centres were launched in December 2017, with a vision to provide Short Term Training to the youth so it helps them to gain employment in the state, however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all the training centres across the state were closed from March 2020.
