Guwahati, Feb 07: The Nagaon administration took action on February 6 to remove illegal encroachments in Jagiroad, Assam, near a former paper mill site.

Approximately 20 families were displaced as authorities cleared the encroached areas.

Bulldozers were deployed to demolish the houses and structures built by the families, as part of the effort to reclaim the land from encroachment.

The eviction operation is ongoing, with security forces present to maintain order and prevent any potential disturbances.

So far, no untoward incidents have been reported from the area.
