Guwahati, April 08: The Assam government has announced financial aid of Rs 1.5 lakh for each of the state’s Bihu committees.
A total of 2,306 Bihu committees in Assam will benefit from this initiative, with a budget allocation of Rs 35 crore.
However, disbursement is subject to approval from the Election Commission, given the ongoing electoral process.
Similar assistance was provided to Bihu committees in the previous year.
However, this year’s announcement was delayed due to the enforcement of the model code of conduct.
