Guwahati, June 12: A government-run coaching institute in Dibrugarh, Assam, has helped 153 out of 220 students pass the NEET-JEE examinations.
This initiative is part of the Assam government’s effort to provide quality education and support to students aspiring to pursue careers in engineering and medicine.
During a press conference, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated, “The media usually highlights student successes from Ajmal Foundation after NEET results. The Assam government formed a youth department to provide coaching for economically weaker section (EWS) students in medical and engineering fields, operating from Dibrugarh and Tezpur.”

The chief minister further revealed that from the Dibrugarh center, 220 students appeared for the NEET-JEE exams, and 153 of them secured seats, including three students who got into AIIMS.
“Currently, around 600 students are taking coaching at the Dibrugarh center, and in Tezpur, 106 students are enrolled. This year, new coaching centers will open in Nalbari, Silchar, and Jorhat,” he added.
The state government plans to open such coaching centers across all districts in Assam.
Chief Minister Sarma emphasized that the Assam government has made significant efforts to support poor and middle-class families, and now world-class coaching institutes are available for underprivileged students at the government’s expense.
