Bhubaneswar, June 12: Tribal leader Mohan Charan Majhi is set to be sworn in as Odisha’s next Chief Minister on Wednesday, June 12, at 5 pm at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar.

Joining him will be two Deputy Chief Ministers: first-time MLA Pravati Parida and six-time legislator Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo. The cabinet may see a mix of senior and young BJP legislators, with names like Jayanarayan Mishra, Suresh Pujari, Rabinarayan Naik, and others being considered.

Notably, Laxman Bag, who defeated BJD president Naveen Patnaik from Kantabanji, is likely to be inducted.

Other potential ministers include Prithiviraj Harichandan, son of Chhattisgarh Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan. The Odisha assembly allows for a total of 22 council of ministers, including the Chief Minister.

This shift comes after the BJP’s landmark victory in the Odisha assembly polls, ending the 24-year rule of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD).

With 78 seats secured in the 147-member assembly, the BJP is poised for significant leadership changes.
