Assam Health minister tweet ‘morphed’ with new COVID-19 cases, police starts investigation
Guwahati, May 11: Assam Health Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday expressed concern over a screenshot of his earlier tweet morphed in which the COVID-19 positive cases count in the state have been changed.
The Assam Health minister has already asked Assam police to file an FIR and investigate the matter.
Taking to Twitter, Himanta Biswa Sarma said that – “I have noted with deep concern an altered/morphed screenshot of my tweet – where the numbers have been changed. Asking @assampolice to immediately file an FIR and investigate @DGPAssamPolice.”

An earlier tweet of Himanta Biswa Sarma, which was morphed and the screenshot was circulated on social media by miscreant that stated that eight more persons who traveled on the bus from Rajasthan in which the Cachar district COVID-19 positive person traveled, have tested positive.
Meanwhile, Assam police has started investigation into the matter.
Assam has reported 64 positive cases for COVID-19 so far and out of that 34 patients were discharged from hospitals.
