Guwahati, February 14: One Bangladeshi cattle smuggler was shot dead by BSF personnel that took place at Kukurmara area in Assam’s South Salmara Mankachar district along the Indo-Bangladesh border on Sunday.

According to the reports, the incident occurred while cattle smugglers had tried to transport cows from the Indian side to Bangladesh by pulling the cows over the tall barbed-wire fence.

While the BSF personnel deployed along the international border had tried to stop the illegal activities, the smuggler group of both Indian and Bangladesh sides had tried to overpower the BSF personnel.

One cattle smuggler from the Bangladesh side was killed in BSF firing on the spot and the security personnel recovered three cows, sharp weapons from the spot.
