Assam Police, stationed at the Churaibari Outpost, apprehended an individual from Tripura who was attempting to smuggle cannabis using an oil tanker owned by Bharat Petroleum Corporation. This operation resulted in the confiscation of a substantial quantity of cannabis valued at approximately Rs 1.5 crore.

Acting on confidential information, Pranab Milli, the officer in charge of the Churaibari police watch post, led his team in a meticulously planned operation on a Sunday morning. Their efforts paid off when they discovered a staggering 1,420 kilograms of dry ganja discreetly concealed inside the oil tanker.

This incident raises concerns about border security, as the tanker had crossed into Assam from Tripura.
