Jihadi arrested

Guwahati, July 28: Six persons were arrested in Barpeta district on Thursday on allegations of them being involved with the Bangladesh-based outfit of Ansarullah Bangla, a Jihadi group known as a wing of Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent.

Assam police bust a major network of Jihadis. Based on secret information Jihadis. Those were arrested from several parts of the district by the Assam Police.

The six arrested persons were identified as Amidul Islam, Moinul Haque, Rafiqul Islam, Shahjahan Ali, Kazibur Hussain and Zuber Khan.

Among these six, one has been nabbed from the Hatigaon area of Guwahati. However, they were arrested by Goalpara, Morigaon, and Barpeta.

Sahanur Islam arrested from Hatigaon area of Guwahati. He has been taken to Barpeta for interrogation on Jihadi activities by Barpeta police. Along with Sahanur, his 3 close aides were also arrested by the cops.

It is said that he is involved in financing terror activities. Basically, working as sleeper cells for terrorist outfits.

Jihadi linkman Mufti Mustafa was arrested from the Moirabari area of Morigaon. Police have sealed the Jamiul Madrasa of Sorusala.

As per the information, arrested Mufti Mustafa was running the Jamiul Huda Madrassa. Police have registered a case under IPC 156 and 22.

According to investigations, Mustafa received money from Ansarullah Bangla, a dreaded Islamic Jihadi organization in Bangladesh during the year 2017-2020.

Mustafa gave the money received to various people, working as a faciliatory for Ansarullah Bangla. In 2019, Mustafa gave shelter to an outsider jihadi in his madrassa.

The Madrassa was opened in 2018, and Mufti studied in Uttar Pradesh. Hence, it is once again proven that the Madrassas imparting religious education are involved in facilitating terror activities in the state.
