Guwahati, Nov 11: The Assam government is set to release the second installment of its ‘Nijut Moina’ scheme on November 11, as announced by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on his social media platform X.

Reaffirming the state’s dedication to the well-being of girls, CM Sarma shared that Rs 18.39 crore will be directly transferred to the bank accounts of over 1.6 lakh girl students.

Praising the scheme’s goals of discouraging child marriage and supporting higher education, he wrote, “Committed to our daughters’ well-being! Today, our girls will receive the second installment of #NijutMoina Asoni.”
Aimed at girls from Class 11 through post-graduation, the ‘Nijut Moina’ scheme was introduced by CM Sarma with Cabinet approval and a Rs 1,500 crore budget.
This monthly financial support benefits female students in government and government-aided institutions.
