Guwahati, Oct 26: A shocking incident unfolded in Assam’s Dhemaji on October 26 when a decrepit bamboo bridge collapsed, causing injuries to several school students who were crossing the river using the bridge.
The incident occurred in Chahbari, located in the Dhemaji district, as a group of school students were making their way across the bridge to reach their school.
The piercing cries and pleas for assistance from the students alerted nearby residents, prompting them to rush to the scene to aid the injured students.

Out of the total of 20 students who sustained injuries, the condition of 5 is reported to be serious.
All the injured students have been swiftly referred to Dhemaji Civil Hospital for immediate medical attention.
