The villagers have highlighted the pressing need for road repairs, particularly during the rainy season when the situation worsens. Heavy rainfall exacerbates the road’s condition, transforming it into a hazardous path filled with potholes and mud, making it extremely treacherous for both pedestrians and vehicles. This perilous situation not only puts the villagers’ lives at risk but also impedes their ability to carry out their daily activities, affecting their overall quality of life.

Recognizing the urgency of the situation, the concerned villagers drafted an application detailing their grievances and submitted it to the president and secretary of the Nahat Gaon Panchayat on July 1. They also forwarded copies of the application to the MLA of the 107 No Thowra Constituency, the Deputy Commissioner of Sivasagar district, and the Block Development Officer (BDO) of Demow Development Block.

The villagers’ application seeks the immediate attention of the authorities, urging them to prioritize the repair work for the Bandarmari Nahat Udaipur road. The plea emphasizes the hardships faced by the villagers, their compromised safety, and the adverse impact on their livelihoods. The timely repair of the road is crucial not only to address the current challenges but also to prevent further deterioration that would increase the cost and complexity of restoration in the future.

To ensure a swift and effective resolution to the road issue, it is imperative for the concerned authorities to acknowledge the urgency and take immediate action. The collaboration between the Nahat Gaon Panchayat, local government representatives, and relevant departments responsible for infrastructure development is crucial in addressing the concerns of the Bandarmari villagers.

The repair work should be approached holistically, considering the use of quality materials, proper drainage systems, and durable construction methods to withstand the region’s climatic conditions. Regular maintenance and periodic inspections should also be implemented to prevent future deterioration.

Furthermore, active communication between the authorities and the villagers is essential to keep them informed about the progress of the repair work. This transparency will instill a sense of trust and confidence among the villagers, reassuring them that their concerns are being taken seriously and that their safety and well-being are paramount.
