In a statement to the media, Bimal Baruah expressed his decision, stating, “I have contemplated joining the party for the past week, especially as many members of the Matak Autonomous Council have aligned with the BJP. Additionally, our local MLA encouraged me to join the AGP. While I could have joined the BJP earlier, given the current state issues, I chose AGP. My allegiance lies with nationalism, which I proudly embrace today.”
Baruah emphasized his commitment to the principles of the Asom Gana Parishad party and pledged to dedicate himself to the cause of nationalism moving forward.
