Guwahati, April 09: In a monumental rally held in Lakhimpur, Union Home Minister Amit Shah delivered a stirring address to a fervent crowd, raising pointed queries aimed directly at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi regarding the party’s historical impact on Assam.

“Rahul baba, I ask you, what contributions has your party made to Assam throughout its history, including the tenure of your grandmother, Indira Gandhi?” Shah’s rhetorical question underscored a call for accountability and tangible results in the state’s development.

Central to Shah’s discourse was the BJP government’s resolute efforts to stem the tide of influx into Assam, a longstanding concern for the region.

“The BJP government has effectively halted the influx into Assam,” Shah proclaimed, highlighting the administration’s proactive measures in addressing this critical issue.

Shah also drew attention to the cultural realm, specifically citing the posthumous conferral of the Bharat Ratna upon Bhupen Hazarika, a revered figure in Assam, during the BJP’s governance.

He criticized the Congress for what he portrayed as neglect towards Assam‘s cultural icons and a failure to adequately honor their contributions.

Moreover, Shah accused the Congress of shirking its responsibilities towards Assam, particularly in terms of fostering equitable development and delivering justice to the northeastern state.

He juxtaposed this alleged negligence with the BJP’s track record of spearheading large-scale development initiatives and effecting transformative changes under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Urging the electorate to rally behind and re-elect Narendra Modi for a third term as Prime Minister, Shah positioned the BJP’s vision and achievements as indispensable elements in securing Assam’s prosperity and advancement.
