New Delhi, March 31: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a scathing attack on the INDIA bloc’s ‘Loktantra Bachao’ rally, alleging it to be a facade to protect dynasty politics and corruption rather than democracy.

BJP leader Sudhanshu Trivedi criticized the opposition parties, accusing them of being embroiled in corruption and prioritizing family interests over national welfare.

Trivedi condemned the rally, suggesting it was orchestrated to shield corrupt practices and safeguard familial dominance in politics.

He insinuated that the opposition parties, particularly the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Congress, were attempting to mask their corruption under the guise of democracy protection.

Highlighting the opposition’s stance on the Ram Temple issue, Trivedi asserted that the parties involved in the rally had historically opposed the temple’s construction. He accused them of exploiting the Ramlila Maidan venue to divert attention from their past wrongdoings and corruption scandals.

Further criticizing the AAP, BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla denounced the rally as a ploy to evade legal consequences for corruption charges. Poonawalla dismissed the notion of the rally being a defense of democracy, alleging it served as a shield for corrupt individuals facing legal scrutiny.

Echoing similar sentiments, BJP leader Shaina NC emphasized the necessity of a competent opposition while condemning corruption within the opposition ranks. She defended the investigative actions of agencies like the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in probing corruption cases, citing the need for accountability.

Responding to criticisms from the Congress regarding tax demands from the Income Tax department, Shaina NC rebuked the party for evading accountability. She emphasized the importance of adhering to tax regulations and filing returns to avoid legal repercussions.

In contrast, AAP leader Gopal Rai accused the BJP of resorting to fear tactics and attempting to undermine the unity of the INDIA bloc. Rai dismissed the BJP’s allegations and portrayed the rally as an expression of democratic dissent against unjust practices.

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav echoed Rai’s sentiments, condemning the BJP’s alleged misuse of investigative agencies to target political opponents.

He accused the BJP of fabricating lies to suppress dissent and criticized its global reputation following Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest.

Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray joined the chorus of criticism against the BJP, accusing the party of harboring corrupt elements and tarnishing the country’s political landscape.

Thackeray denounced the BJP’s attack on the INDIA bloc, labeling it as a desperate attempt to deflect attention from its corruption scandals.

Amidst the political turmoil, Arvind Kejriwal’s wife, Sunita Kejriwal, is slated to convey a message from the former at the rally.

Additionally, Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge are expected to address the gathering, further intensifying the political discourse surrounding the event.
